What To Expect

  • 1. We start by doing a walk through where our customer shows our technician what rooms need to be cleaned.

  • 2. Our team will clear the area to the best of our ability, moving furniture and items off of the carpet.

  • 3. Once the room is clear we proceed with vacuuming

  • 4. As we vacuum, we look for troubled areas, spills, and spots. We pretreat these areas with our specialized spotters.

  • 5. Our certified “green” cleaning solution is then applied to the carpet

  • 6. We agitate our cleaning solution with our shampooing/power scrubbing machine. This helps penetrate the fibers lifting the soil to the top of the carpet for easier extraction.

  • 7. We thoroughly clean the carpet with our truck-mounted steam cleaning system. The powerful suction of the machine removes the water and the dirt.

  • 8. Once the cleaning is finished, we like to do a post-job inspection with our customer to make sure they are satisfied with the job.

Scalzo Maintenance prides itself on using safer cleaning products that won’t harm you, your pets, or our environment. Being a Family owned and operated business we believe in giving our customers a personal experience and always treat every job as if we were cleaning our own home. Starting at $50 a room, there are absolutely no hidden fees.

Carpet Cleaning Add Ons

Some jobs require a little EXTRA. Scalzo offers different add on to accommodate your specific needs.

After cleaning your carpet it makes sense to protect it. Our Scotch Gard protection is designed to extend the life of your carpet, protecting it from dirt, accidental spills, and even normal wear and tear.

Cleaning a carpet is an effective way in removing the different odors in your home. For the extremely difficult odors it takes a little more love. Our specialized deodorizer contains no harsh chemicals, is non-corrosive, and will not leave a sticky residue behind. It WILL destroy odor caused by bacteria, mildew and other organic matter like pet stains.

We know a big question is how long until the carpet is fully dry, and that can range anywhere from 2-8 hours. If our customer needs a specific room dry as soon as possible we can speed this process along by adding air movers to the room immediately after we clean resulting in carpets drying in less than 1 hour.

Filtration soil lines are typically seen along the perimeter of the room. Air circulation causes the carpet to act like a “filter” trapping small airborne dirt, oil, dust, and carbon between the wall and carpet, or under doorways. The result is unsightly black lines that are tricky to get rid of. Scalzo can take care of these edges with our specialized solution and edge scrub. We rinse and vacuum out the soil with our specialized steam cleaning edging tool.

FAQs

How long will it take to clean my carpets?2021-03-22T13:57:25-04:00

On average, the cleaning process will take approximately 20 minutes per room. This time can vary greatly depending on the many different factors like how soiled the carpet is.

My carpet was cleaned, and now it has bubbles or ripples in it. What caused this?2021-03-22T13:56:48-04:00

As the carpet dries, these bubbles or ripples should start to lay flat again. Once it is dry they should be virtually unnoticeable. This is usually a sign that the carpet was in need of re-stretching prior to the carpet cleaning. If you are at all concerned you can always reach us at (732) 968-6788

How long will it take for my carpet to dry after a carpet cleaning?2021-03-22T13:55:44-04:00

Dry time is affected by humidity, temperature and air flow to the area. It can take anywhere between 8-24 hours for the carpet to completely dry, depending on the aforementioned variables. Using fans in any rooms cleaned and turning your air conditioning or heating system on, depending on the time of year, can help accelerate drying time. Be sure to leave the protective blocks under furniture legs and any paper used with upholstered items in place until the carpet and/or furniture is completely dry to avoid any color transfer. You may walk on your carpet immediately after cleaning, but avoid wearing street shoes, as they may re-soil your carpet. We suggest wearing clean rubber soled shoes. Be especially careful when walking from damp, carpeted areas on to non-carpeted areas to avoid slipping.

Do You Move Furniture When You Clean Carpet?2021-03-22T13:53:47-04:00

Yes. There is no charge to move furniture and we are professionally trained to move your furniture. After the cleaning is completed, we will return it to its rightful place on protective padding as needed. We do suggest you remove items off of your furniture like electronics, plants, lamps and knick-knacks. We will move most furniture that can be safely moved. There are several items we will not move, including: pianos, electronics, china cabinets, beds, dressers with mirrors, pool tables, etc.
